Amidst all the show production, act conception and photoshoot frivolity, I’m also in pre-production for my 5th short film, The Tempest. It’s all systems go at Vee-Dub HQ.
The Tempest, a 90 second glimpse into the backstage madness of a burlesque show, will be my shortest film to date. It’s a challenge preparing for something so furiously short and sweet – I’m mentally tallying each precious second of footage in advance to save heartache (and headache!) in the editing suite.
But it’s for the best. I’ve learnt from previous screenings that fast and punchy works well for all the high-energy burlesq-ploitation clips I enjoy producing.
The Tempest follows the whirlwind that is Foxy, a fierce and formidable dancer, in her race against the clock (and fellow cast) to get her ass on stage. Will she make it?
Will I? 2 weeks to go until shootday, and counting. I’m story-boarding like a madman.
